WATERGRASS ELEMENTARY 2023 HOLIDAY SHOP
MONDAY NOVEMBER 27TH-FRIDAY DECEMBER 1ST
We are bring back the Holiday Shop for the Students at WGES, for 1 week only, (the week after Thanksgiving break!) You Might remember the nostalgia of being able to independently shop for your friends and family in Elementary school and the pride you felt when they opened those gifts, knowing you did it all on your own. If you aren't familiar with the Holiday Shop, there is a 'store' set up at school (Cafeteria Stage) with various items in different price groups, (will share examples below!) where students can come down and buy gifts for their loved ones. The items will even be put in a nice, gift wrap bag, to keep the items concealed until they are ready for someone to 'unwrap.'
Look for information being sent home with your child that also helps explain it. As a parent, where you can help is, sit down with your child(ren) and make a list of everyone they should shop for. This could be immediate family (mom, dad, siblings), aunts/uncles, grandmas, grandpas, best friends, a favorite teacher or coach, anyone they would like to give a gift to, really. Then setting a budget (an amount the child will bring in to purchase these items). This is the important part! Lets say they decide to shop for 5 people, its important they understand what their 'budget' is for each person and what "Groups" they can shop from to stay in that budget. Dont stress about this part, we will have volunteers there to help the kids with all of this and help them select things if they need it! However, It would be very helpful to us, If you notate who they need to shop for if necessary!
Each teacher will select a time slot for their class to come down and do some shopping. If your child forgets/misses that time slot, they just need to let the teacher know they brought money for the Holiday Shop and they can send the student down as their schedule permits so the child can do their shopping. We do plan to have the Holiday Shop open during Winter Wonderland as well.
PAYMENT METHODS:
THE SHOP CAN TAKE: CASH, CREDIT/DEBIT, CHECK (MAKE PAYABLE TO WGES PTA), OR GIFT CARD.
To purchase a Wonderland Gift card, please visit www.Wonderland-GC.com - After purchasing, you'll receive an email confirmation with an attached image. Please print this gift card image, which has an important code number, and give it to your child to shop at school. You can also forward the confirmation email to WGESptaWays@gmail.com with your students name and teachers name so we can ensure we have a copy of it in case it gets lost.
Please understand that the shop Items pictured may differ slightly from whats offered, or may not be available when your student shops. It is first come, first served and we will do our best to try to get restocked (if at all possible-no guarantees) or find a good substitute for your child within the same price group!
