MEET YOUR 2023-2024 PTA BOARD
Holly Zapf President I have two daughters and have been a part of the WGES family since my oldest started Kindergarten in 2017. Kate will be moving up to 6th grade attending Cypress Creek Middle School, & Bridgette will be in 4th grade. Being involved with the PTA has given me the opportunity to form amazing relationships with the admin, staff & teachers at WGES, given me a deeper understanding of their educational experience, be on campus often, and I’ve made some amazing friends along the way. I am passionate about creating opportunities for students to be on campus with peers and teachers with no “scholastic expectations” and helping them create memorable school experiences. My favorite event from last year was the Spring Carnival. It was an absolute blast, and a huge event that would not have been possible without our volunteers. I’m excited to announce we will be adding an additional, free family event to the calendar this year, Magic Night! |
Ashley Murphy VP Ways & Means This fall I will have a 3rd grader & twins in Kindergarten. My husband and I joined the PTA to get involved & stay connected with the school community. I've found that it has been a great way to meet other parents, as well as get to know the staff at WGES. This Is my 2nd year as VP Ways & Means. Last year I was really excited to focus on Spring Carnival and Staff Appreciation Week, both events were so fun to plan and turned out so well, I'm excited to see what we come up with this year! I work full-time for Johnson & Johnson, Inc. and In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family by the pool, at sporting events or at the beach/on vacation!. |
Amanda Nelson VP Hospitality I am half way through my families journey at WGES with one recently graduating and entering 6th at Weightman Middle, one entering Kindergarten and a 4th grader. I have been in the PTA for 7 years, wearing many hats on the board, and am so proud of the amazing things we’ve accomplished over the years. From buying new tables and chairs for the media center, to adding more annual family free events! My husband and I run our family owned business, Young Cardinal Electric. We are proud to have been able to assist the PTA with lighting, DIYs, woodworking and building, and sponsor free family events such as the Spring Carnival. My favorite event is Trunk or Treat. The family decorated trunks, staff out in full costume and fun that fills the school during the event is magical. |
